IMPORTANT WHEN REQUESTING PRESCRIPTIONS
When ordering please state the brand name of any medication you regularly take if you are always given the same one by the pharmacy. For example if you take HRT or use the oral contaceptiove pill or use Insulin or take blood pressure medication please give the name of the brand rather than the drug name if you are unsure please list both names.
Your prescription can be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice to save you coming to the practice to collect it. Please ensure this is set up by notifying the receptionist or GP.
You can order by email from this site, post or at reception, we no longer accept fax requests for medication.
Patients are being asked to provide their surgery with their preferred pharmacy to enable us to send electronic prescription requests. EPS prescribing is reliable, secure and confidential.
Our GP Partners ask that all future prescriptions are sent electronically and not issued in paper format
Our reception team are able to action your request for a chosen pharmacy
If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, we may be able to issue a repeat prescription . Please ask the receptionist.
Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication such as hayfever, cough's and colds and mild skin conditions as these conditions should no longer be prescribed. More information is available at www.nhs.uk/OTCmedicines
The majority of pharmacies no longer allow patients to order via them and will request that patients make arrangements to order directly with the surgery this is because of a county wide initiative by Nene Clinical Commissioning and the Prescribing and Medicines Management Team to try and reduce medication wastage because of the way medication is requested.
Prescription requests can be made a week before your medication is due to run out. Some prescriptions may be post dated.
If you need to order your medication early for any reason, you will need to let us know why otherwise the request may not be processed. For example if you are going on holiday and will be away when you are due to renew your medication please let us know. We monitor all early requests to try to prevent wastage and over ordering of medication. Patients who repeatedly order early may be contacted by the surgery to find out why this is happening.
Alternatively you may order your repeat prescription in writing or by following the link to the online form above. Requesting your prescription in this way is quick, convenient and secure.
Please allow 2 working hours for any orders, as your GP will need to check your medical records before reissuing your prescription. Prescriptions are always ready AFTER 3.00pm
- Request: Monday collect Wednesday after 3.00pm
- Request: Tuesday collect Thursday after 3.00pm
- Request:Wednesday collect Friday after 3.00pm
- Request: Thursday collect Monday after 3.00pm

Please note if you are collecting your prescription directly from a pharmacy they may require extra processing time. You would need to contact your chosen pharmacy directly to ascertain how long extra they need.
